Robert ‘Bob’ Moore, co-founder of the Engelhardt-Moore Lecture Series, is a geologist and avocational archaeologist who loves travel, gaming, history, and paleontology. He graduated from Michigan Technological Institute with degrees in geology and computer science. After working 8-years in the Oil & Gas industry, Bob decided to change careers and earned a Certificate of Financial Planning (CFP) through the University of Houston. After running his own business called “Moore Money Management” for 30 years, he retired in January 2022 and is now pursuing a variety of personal interests. Currently, he is a Mentor Docent at the Houston Museum of Natural Science (HMNS) and volunteers for a variety of activities including Special Exhibits, and the Paleontology Hall and Lab. Bob participates in both paleontological and archaeological digs around the world for the HMNS, Burpee Museum of Natural History, University of Zagreb, and other organizations. He regularly gives lectures. Bob is on the Board of the West Houston Assistance Ministries (WHAM) and volunteers in their Food Pantry. He has been featured in one National Geographic Special.

Nancy Engelhardt-Moore

Nancy L. Engelhardt-Moore, co-founder of the Engelhardt-Moore Lecture Series, is a geologist/paleontologist who has a fascination for travel, photography, history, and archaeology. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin: Whitewater with a BA in Fine Art and from Northern Illinois University with a MS in Geology/Micropaleontology. After working 36 years in the Oil & Gas industry, she retired in September 2016 and is now pursuing a variety of personal interests. Currently, she is a Mentor Docent at the Houston Museum of Natural Science (HMNS) and volunteers for a variety of activities including Special Exhibits, the Paleontology Hall and Lab, Docents-to-Go (past Co-Chair) and Earth Science Week. She participates in both paleontological and archaeological digs around the world for the HMNS, Burpee Museum of Natural History, University of Zagreb, and other organizations. Nancy also volunteers in WHAM’s Food Pantry. Over the years, Nancy has received multiple awards due to her profound skills and capabilities. In addition, she co-authors scientific papers, gives talks, and has been in National Geographic documentaries.

Dr. Xiuju Liu, our web designer & developer, is a distinguished professional marketer and geoscientist with extensive expertise in LNG long-term contracts, geology, geochemistry, stratigraphy, and statistics. She earned her PhD in Geology from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, and holds both a Master's degree in Geology and a Bachelor's degree in Geosciences from Lanzhou University, China. Currently, Dr. Liu is employed in the industry, where she actively participates in professional conferences, delivering talks and presenting posters. She also publishes scientific papers and serves as a reviewer for multiple peer-reviewed journals. In addition to her professional accomplishments, Dr. Liu is proficient in web design and development and enjoys acrylic painting. She is highly engaged in community volunteer activities and has served as a docent at the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Dr. Liu has a passion for travel, through which she explores diverse cultures, meets new people, and gains insights into history and traditions.
